Forest Jade – green tea

Green tea from the Assam tea plant from the mountainous regions of northern Thailand is a fascinating and robust tea. Unlike classic Chinese or Japanese green teas, which come from the small-leaf sinensis variety, Thai Assamica brings a completely different depth, strength and the specific wild character of the mountain jungle to a cup of green tea.
While the Assam tea plant has a natural tendency to be bitter and astringent (due to its high tannin content), growing at high altitudes and proper processing transform these characteristics into a unique profile. The aroma is intense, fresh, with dominant notes of roasted nuts, roasted corn, wild herbs and humid mountain forest. The taste profile is full, full-bodied and distinctive. At the beginning there is a light, pleasantly stimulating astringency, which immediately changes to a deep sweetness.
