Wild Assamica variety tea, from the Mae Taeng mountain region of Thailand is a rare, artisanal product with a unique flavor profile. It combines the natural wildness of the robust large-leafed Assamica variety with the finest and most gentle processing methods.
It often resembles the traditional Chinese Bai Mu Dan (White Peony) types in appearance, but the leaves are noticeably larger. They range in color from silvery gray, through olive green to darker brown tones depending on how they are dried in the sun.
While the Assam variety is known worldwide for producing dense and bitter black teas, the white processing reveals a completely opposite character. Aroma is iIntensely sweet, with a distinct trace of forest honey, ripe fruit (apricot, peach), meadow flowers and exotic wood. The taste profile is full, velvety smooth and naturally sweet. It lacks any bitterness or astringency that is typical of Assam.
